Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Silicon Shepherd is operated by Richard Connor (sole proprietor). For privacy enquiries, contact us at [email protected]. We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.

2. What We Store — and What We Don't

When you sign up, we store the following in our database (hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure):

• ✓Email address — used to identify your account and send your daily chapters.
• ✓Story preferences — your onboarding answers (genre, tone, protagonist, themes, etc.), used to generate your story.
• ✓Generated story content — your story bible, chapter outline, and rendered chapters, stored so we can deliver them daily.
• ✓Delivery preferences — your chosen delivery time.
• ✓Purchase history — transaction reference and amount, for each arc purchased.

We do not store payment card details. All payment processing is handled by Paddle.

3. Story Generation

Your story preferences and generated content are sent to Anthropic's API (the makers of Claude AI) to generate your story. This is used solely to produce your personalised novel — we do not use your data for any other purpose.

4. Payments

Purchases are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. We never see or store your payment card details. Paddle handles all billing, receipts, and tax compliance. Their privacy policy is at paddle.com/legal/privacy. On a successful purchase, Paddle notifies us of your email address and the transaction reference so we can activate your arc.

5. Email Delivery

Your daily chapters are sent via Resend, our email delivery provider. Your email address is shared with Resend solely for the purpose of delivering your story. Resend's privacy policy is at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

6. Cookies & Analytics

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent first.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To request access or deletion, email us at [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days. For payment data, contact Paddle directly.

8. Children

Silicon Shepherd is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the service and data was collected, contact us and we'll address it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Silicon Shepherd after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
